INTERFERENCE

My fascination for this project lies in the digital fatigue and machine’s exhaustion. I have been inspired by old printers running out of ink and their systematic and linear attitude, which belongs to the digital language.

What interests me in this topic is the sensitivity which can exude from this fatigue, in which I can recognize human aspects.

Inspired by codes directly taken from the digital language such as the systematic and mechanical attitude and the linear and binary grammar, I have been trying to create digital-like visuals in an analogue way. Focusing on the confusion it can create, I am inspired by the notion of interference, which refers to a digital malfunction or fatigue.

An interference can be seen as an encounter, a physical collision. It is the phenomenon resulting from the overlapping of two frequencies or distinct languages.
